Sarah and Alexander's Wedding: an Occasion to Give Back
June 1st, 2019 marked a memorable day for Sarah and Alexander and they wanted to share it with the kids at the Children’s. They decided to do things differently for their wedding: they chose to donate to a worthy cause.
"As soon as we started planning the details of our wedding, we knew that we wanted to give back in some way," explained Sarah, who has been working as an occupational therapist on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for almost 5 years.
"I have seen first-hand what parents and caregivers of these young infants live through every day. I have also been able to see how the amazing care, provided to each one of our patients from the entire multidisciplinary team working on the NICU, can positively impact each patient and their families.
Our wedding day was such a special moment in our lives and using it as an opportunity to share our love with the NICU and to contribute something positive for these families meant so much to us. Our guests also truly appreciated having a donation made in their honour to the NICU through the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.
We strongly encourage other couples who are planning their weddings to consider this wonderful opportunity to support a foundation that gives back in so many ways to our young patients and their families - it feels great and makes a real difference!"
