The Bal des tannants for The Children's raises a record $1.5 million

Over 700 Quebecers attended the sold-out Bal des tannants for The Children’s held on May 12. The most anticipated event of Montreal’s social season raised a record $1.5 million for the Hospital’s Healthy Kids Fund.

The Ball’s Honourary Co-presidents were the dream team of Isabelle Marcoux, Chair of the Board, Transcontinental Inc., and Kim Thomassin, Executive Vice President and Head of Quebec, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.

"The ball brought together a fantastic mix of people with one aim: to help sick children," said Isabelle Marcoux. "I thank everyone who attended for their tremendous generosity and for making the Bal des tannants such a great success once again this year."

"It is an honour to support The Children’s. The Hospital makes a profound difference in the lives of tens of thousands of sick children and their families. Thank you to everyone who came together to support this important cause,” said Kim Thomassin.

Guests danced the night away

A glamorous crowd of business and community leaders, philanthropists, government ministers and other generous Quebecers attended the ‘fun’draiser held at Hangar Starlink Aviation.

The venue was transformed into a magical ballroom for this singular event hosted by Ben Mulroney. Guests enjoyed a delicious menu created by Ristorante Beatrice and live music by Paul Chacra’s 1945 Band. An after-party with DJ YO-C had revelers dancing into the wee hours of the morning.

The dress code was glamorous with a touch of 'brattiness.'

Sure, guests modeled elegant gowns and tuxedos but were encouraged to do so with a childish twist! Think sticky lollipops in updos, sunglasses that would make Elton John jealous, Hawaiian shirts with bow ties and mismatched shoes.

Partygoers revealed their mischievous nature for good cause – The Children’s young patients. It was a fun celebration of brattiness because we all know a bratty kid is a healthy kid…long live little brats!
