Bal des tannants for The Children’s: $1,675,000 to ensure sick children accross Quebec receive exceptional care!

The 23rd edition of the Bal des Tannants for The Children’s on May 10 was a fusion of elegance and sophistication with a touch of mischief.

Generosity filled the air as 700 Quebec business leaders and philanthropists gathered at the Starlink Aviation hangar, which was transformed into a glittering and glamourous ballroom. Thanks to the incredible dedication and tireless efforts of Sandra Chartrand and Julie Godin, the ball’s honorary co-presidents, the event surpassed all expectations, raising an exceptional $1,675,000 to help sick children across Quebec have a brighter future.

“The extraordinary generosity of ball patrons and sponsors allows The Children’s to provide top-tier care to every child. Witnessing our community's remarkable outpouring of generosity fills me with profound gratitude,” remarked Sandra Chartrand, President of the Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation.

Echoing this sentiment, Julie Godin, Co-Chair of the Board and Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development at CGI said, "Witnessing the compassion of Quebecers is heartwarming. We are investing in kids’ futures and giving our children a chance to thrive."

The dress code: glamourous with a touch of 'brattiness’!

Elegant gowns and tuxedos adorned the guests but with a childlike twist! Think sticky lollipops in updos, sunglasses that would make Elton John jealous, Hawaiian shirts with bow ties and mismatched shoes. Partygoers revealed their mischievous nature for a good cause – The Children's young patients. Because a bratty kid is a healthy kid…and we want Quebec children to be as healthy as possible.

1, 2, 3, sold out!

The Ball sold out quickly, thanks to the truly dedicated members of our Ball Committee, led by a trio of incredible Co-Presidents Véronique Black, Sharon Stern, and Jamie Silver.

The evening unfolded with delicious creations by Beatrice Catering that tantalized taste buds. Paul Chacra’s 1945 Band packed the dance floor. Ben Mulroney was our affable Master of Ceremonies. DJ Sandy Duperval kept spirits soaring with an electrifying after-party as the night progressed, ensuring laughter and joy echoed well into the early hours.
