I give my 10th birthday to children and research: please donate for a good cause!
I am 10 years old today. My name is Zoe and I am in 4th grade.
I love school, I love to learn, I love my family and my friends. I love ballet and contemporary dance,I like to play the piano, drawing, LOVE reading, traveling and doing lots of activities.
Last fall I had a sore arm (not broken). Then a lump appeared on my collarbone. I missed a lot of school and had to go through many medical tests. I received exceptional service at the Childrens. In every single department I went (orthopedy, radiology, oncology, infectiology, nuclear medecine, rhumatology... I was also so lucky to be even hypnosed for my biopsy. The service was great!).
The picture is with the tech who did hypnose on me right before my biopsy. She was awesome!
Yes, it could have been serious, but I'm lucky it is not. It is a rare disease, the symptoms such as pain and bone inflammation can be recurrent and chronic but my life is not in danger!
However, there are many children who are not as fortunate as me and who have a less promising diagnosis.
My parents therefore encouraged me, since I am a pampered and lucky little girl, to donate my 10 year birthday party.
So there you go, yes, I will be having a party with my friends, but rather than having gifts, I'm going to ask my friends through their parents to make a donation for the Children's Foundation. I am also asking my parents friends via their social media to donate for a good cause: research and children!
So thank you for encouraging me to make with my birthday a little difference for all of the children who, like me, just want to be able to laugh, play, learn and only be healthy. Research CAN make a difference.
Thank you with all my heart!
Zoé - 10 years old today.
