National Bank
“Knowledge is power”. Lynn Kiraly-Batist, librarian of the MCH Family Resource Centre could not agree more. Thanks to the National Bank of Canada’s generous support, the sparkling new Family Resource Center is bigger and better, going from a “small but efficient” resource on the fifth-floor of the old hospital on Tupper Street to a big efficient one on the ground floor: a thousand square feet, with a huge atrium, conveniently located near the main entrance of Block A.
The expanded service includes a business center with computers, internet, a printer and a scanner, so parents can carry on with work and household affairs. There will also be a conference room where Lynn Kiraly-Batist plans to organize parent support groups and public health information sessions. And of course, parents can learn everything they need to know about their children’s medical condition by consulting the library’s books, journals, on-line databases, videos, DVDs, and other materials for children, teens and adults.
