Rémi, a young Heart Warrior
Rémi has been fighting since he was an infant - he underwent not one, but two open heart surgeries before his eighth birthday.
The Children's young patient was born with a heart murmur and soon after was unfortunately diagnosed with subaortic stenosis, a narrowing of the heart's aortic valve that reduces blood flow.
The news that Remi would have to undergo open heart surgery was shocking for his family. Fortunately, The Children's experts were very reassuring and saved his life.
Thanks to the extraordinary care he received at the Hospital and your support, Rémi was able to return to his energetic self! Today, he is very active: he enjoys skiing, skateboarding, breakdancing, soccer, and basketball. And math is his favorite subject at school.
Rémi will receive health care for many years to come. To help other children like him, Rémi and his family participated in The Foundation's last Radiothon, bravely expressing their gratitude to The Children's and donors like you. They helped raise over $1.3 million for our young patients. Congratulations, Rémi!
