The new Children’s will boast a unique Teen Lounge thanks to a generous contribution from The James Philip Hawkins Fund of The Henry and Berenice Kaufmann Foundation.
Located on the S1 level of Pavilion B of the new hospital, with direct access to the atrium and a view of the outdoor garden, this space will be dedicated to adolescents, who represent 30% of the hospital’s patients. Child Life specialists will be able to organize activities suited to the interests and needs of hospitalized pre-teens and teenagers.
We thank The Henry and Berenice Kaufmann Foundation’s Directors for highlighting and focusing on this often overlooked segment of our patient population and for helping to give hospitalized teenagers a wonderful space they can call their own.
