Important Announcement

The Board of Directors of the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that Ms. Katrin Nakashima, Vice-Chair of the Board and Secretary, has accepted the invitation to serve as Interim President effective May 1, 2017.  This follows the announcement that Marie-Josée Gariépy will take up a new challenge at McGill University. “As a Board of Directors, our objective is to ensure a smooth transition and to support the Foundation’s outstanding fundraising team during this period of transition,” says Jonathan Amiel, Chairman of the Board.  “Ms. Nakashima has provided strong leadership as a key member of the Foundation Board and its Executive Committee.  We are grateful that she has accepted to serve in this role while the Board engages in a search for a new President.” Ms. Nakashima has been an attorney since 1982 and has extensive experience in governance, business law, and investment administration. She worked as a senior executive for Imasco Limited from 1991 until it was taken private in 2000. Formerly, she worked for nine years at a business law firm where she became co-managing partner. Ms. Nakashima joined the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors in 2001.  She currently serves as Vice-Chair and Secretary as well as Co-Chair of the Investment Committee. She is also a member of the Executive Committee, the Governance Committee, the Nomination Committee and the Young Leaders’ Circle Advisory Board. “As a grateful parent whose children were treated at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, I am passionate about the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation and the important work it helps to support,” says Ms. Nakashima. “I hope that I can serve in a way that inspires and empowers the Foundation during this time of transition.”
