Join us for RADIX MTL, RADIANCE: Art that Breathes Life, an inspiring art exhibition featuring a curated selection of local artists—both emerging and established—who will showcase their work in support of The Montreal Children’s Hospital’s Cystic Fibrosis Clinic. This fundraiser is held in honor of Vita & Mara Racaniello, twin nieces of Sandy Cavallo, who have been courageously battling cystic fibrosis since infancy.

The event is free to attend, with donations collected at the door. A portion of the proceeds from every artwork sold will be donated to the cause.

Enjoy an evening of stunning art, meet talented artists, and complimentary wine, all while supporting a meaningful cause.  Together, we can inspire hope and bring change through the power of art.

Reaching New Heights Through Art:

RADIX MTL 2024 Fundraiser for The Montreal Children's Cystic Fibrosis Clinic

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults, with 1 in every 3,600 children born in Canada diagnosed with the condition. Nearly 4,000 Canadians, including children, adolescents, and adults, depend on specialized care from clinics like the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at The Montreal Children’s Hospital. Although CF currently has no cure, these clinics provide life-saving treatments and vital support to those affected.

For Sandy Cavallo, this cause is deeply personal. Her nieces, Vita and Mara Racaniello, were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at just eight months old. Since their diagnosis, they have faced annual hospitalizations and require daily treatments, including medication with every meal and therapy sessions three times a day. However, since 2022, the girls were selected for a three-year trial of Trikafta, a groundbreaking study targeting different genetic mutations in CF.

This treatment has brought a dramatic improvement to the twins' lives. In the past two years, they have experienced no hospitalizations, and their doctor was even able to remove one of their treatments. Lung x-rays show much clearer results, and the girls now have less coughing, a healthy appetite, and are gaining weight and height at a steady pace. Overall, life for Vita and Mara looks much brighter and more promising.

Since 2016, RADIX MTL has used art, culture, and community to make a difference in the lives of children like Vita and Mara. By harnessing the power of creativity and shared experiences, RADIX MTL has raised over $25,000 for The Montreal Children’s Hospital. Now, after a brief hiatus, we are excited to bring back the fundraiser for the holiday season!

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
