Celeste’s Fund
We are so happy to share that Celeste is now in remission.
At only 4 months of age, Celeste was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, a rare cancer disease that affects 4 in one million children worldwide. Following what Celeste's parents thought would be a routine hospital visit, The Montreal Children's Hospital team was able to impressively diagnosed Celeste's rare condition in less than 72 hours. Dozens of doctors worked around the clock to make this quick and accurate diagnostic; speed made all the difference in providing Celeste the best chances of fighting.
Celeste underwent chemotherapy treatments at The Children's, surrounded not only by an incredible medical team, but an entire support-system of child-play volunteers, child-development experts, nutritionist, social workers, and several other hospital support programs.
As a family, we are immensely grateful to The Montreal Children's Hospital who, in the grimmest of times, was able to provide Celeste and our family with the highest levels of care and peripheral support.
The funds collected via the Celeste's Fund are donated to the help The Children's and its oncology department meet their most urgent needs.
In addition, Celeste's mom Martina wrote a children's book "Curious Celeste Discovers the Seasons" (available in English, French and Spanish) of which 100% of proceeds are donated to charity split between The Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation and the organization "Books that Heal". The book is available on Amazon, and to read the story or find out more you can visit :
