A little story
In 1992, Michael Conway and Sylvie Lalumière started Pedal for Kids in memory of their daughter Meagan who had been cared for at The Montreal Children’s Hospital. Today, after thirty years, Michael continues to lead this initiative to help The Children's in its mission to provide cutting-edge care for sick children and their families.

Encourage them to make their pledge on your personal fundraising page, where they can write a personal message of encouragement on your wall. The cheque can be mailed directly to the foundation along with the name, address, and team name; alternatively, the cheque can be given to your team captain.
What do I do if someone wants to donate cash?
The best way to handle cash is to put it in a sealed donation envelope (provided to all participants) along with the name and address of the donor, and give it to your team captain. You can also drop it off directly at the Foundation to the attention of Laurence Poitras. Make sure that you indicate the name of your team on the envelope so we know to whom to attribute the donations!

Need help setting up your team's fundraising page?
This year marks the 32nd edition of Pedal for Kids, a unique team building
event. Our goal is to raise $400,000 to help fund the Interhospital Pediatric
Transport Project and support the Child Life team. Whether in teams of 15
or 30 enthusiastic participants, fun is guaranteed for all!
Four pediatric hospitals in Quebec, including The Children's, are launching a specialized Interhospital Pediatric Transport Project in June 2023. The initiative aims to transport critically ill children to specialized pediatric hospitals with dedicated professionals and equipment. This is expected to benefit over 400 children annually, and will cover up to 200 km from Montreal. In order to ensure a fully equipped and functional transport unit at all times, funding is needed for a backup defibrillator to restart the hearts of kids in need after cardiac arrest.
The Children's Child Life team aims to improve patients' and families'
quality of life and normalize their hospital stay. Thanks to donor support, the only dedicated Child Life team in Quebec provides vital care for long-term patients and pre-surgery support for children. The team has introduced valuable complimentary therapies over its 80+ year history. Your donation will contribute directly to transforming care for thousands of young patients and their families.
Pedal for our kids! Participate in this year's event so that the young
patients at The Children's can get the most out of their childhood.
EMMA, A TRUE FIGHTER.
Emma was born with a spinal deformity caused by vertebrae that are not properly formed. She also had a posterior cleft palate, which affects her hearing. When her mom Cari left the hospital where she gave birth, the pediatrician said you are going to become very good friends with The Children’s.
At the time, she didn’t understand the statement, but today, after being in and out of the hospital for surgeries, infections, appointments and tests, the hospital is the family’s second home.
Emma’s birth was uneventful. She was a beautiful little baby. For the first 24 hours, mom and dad were in 7th heaven as they bonded with their newborn. It was only the next day when the pediatrician signaled that something was seriously wrong with the little girl and the parents needed to be seen at The Children’s.
The Children's is there for many kids like Emma who use its services regularly. Your support really makes a difference. You are funding pediatric care. You are funding Child Life services who help put smiles on kids’ faces helping them forget for a moment that they are sick. Even if your children are healthy and well, you never know. Your family might need to rely on The Children’s tomorrow. If we all give a little, we can help a lot.
