CCIFF Canadian & Chinese Short Animation Collections Screening
The event cooperates with National Film Board presenting Oscar nominated animations, also including Chinese water ink style animation to give a different experience for audiences.The list of short animated movies are:
1. Where’s Mama (1960, 15min)
After the frog mother gave birth to the eggs, the little babies who slowly grew their tails decided to look for the mother's story with the help of Mr. Shrimp.
2. The Town Mouse and the Country
Mouse (1980, 5min30)
This animation revisits Aesop’s tale of 2 mice with vastly different lifestyles. It is far better to live simply and in peace than to live in luxury amidst danger.
3. Sunday (2011, 9min52)
On a grey Sunday, a young boy drops a coin on some nearby train tracks out of sheer boredom.
4. Me and My Moulton (2014, 13min06)
A seven-year-old girl and her sisters, who ask for a bicycle knowing full well that their loving yet unconventional parents will likely disappoint them.
5. Winds of Spring (2017, 6min)
A young girl who, driven by the irrepressible need for self-fulfillment, decides to leave the family nest.
6. Chasing the Sun (2018, 6min30)
Every one of us is on the way of seeking, but always accidentally finds ourselves, but loses the world.
7. OCD (2018, 6min23)
The main character of the film is a girl who is suffering from
obsessive-compulsive disorder, or OCD. When she sees the empty space between the books, she feels anxious, and fearful, then begins seeing a horrible illusion.
