INpatient,INstlye is on a mission to improve the already exceptional care the children receive at the MHC. In partnership with students from LaSalle College and the MCHF, we aim to give the children the opportunity to wear fun and expressive gowns designed by local talent. No two patients are the same, so why should their gowns be? Help us in our mission and see how a touch of color and style can brighten a child’s day!
This project will be a long term and sustained commitment to ensure that all children in the ward will eventually have access to comfortable, fun and expressive gowns! Help us get started by supporting our first phase.
Phase One: Colloborative Fabrication and Design
- Over 15 dedicated design students from College LaSalle will work closely with the children using interactive activitiees to design the new gowns. One “Haute-Couture” and one practical gown per child will be made.
-Children can volunteer to model their designs at the annual LaSalle college fashion show in a fun confidence building exercise.
This exciting project will bring the children's designs to life, show that these changes are possible and give the public a glimpse of what is to come.
Phase Two: A lasting Change
-We will work closely with theMCH to source new gowns that will not only be designed by the children but will meet the hygiene and budget needs of the hospital. Any additional costs will be offset by donations and a group of sponsors.
- It is our objective to give children some selection and choice of how they’re perceived. With functional and fun and dignified gowns.
While we’re hunting for the perfect group of sponsors our young designers are eagerly waiting to start sewing, all that is missing is a modest budget for materials!
Your generous donations will help make this project a reality!
